The NEO1 is a light-sheet microscope, built using reflective optics to ensure minimal chromatic aberrations when using multiple light-sources.
A simplified design, based on a cage-system allows for easy maintenance and realignment if ever needed.
Light-Sheet Applications
Light-sheet microscopes can be used to image a variety of samples. Their biggest advantage is that they are a wide-field method, which means they can acquire an entire section of the sample in one shot. And because of the illumination profile, they don’t lose sectioning ability.
In most implementations, including the Neo1, the volumetric reconstruction is achieved by rotating the sample around its center.
